Keir Highways - Naming the Gritter Lorry
At the beginning of March, Brixworth Primary School were visited by Keir Highways. They came in to school to show the children a presentation during assembly. They were shown a short video about highways and informed about how much grit they have, how much they use and how far they go. The children were then advised that they would have the opportunity to name the gritter and that once the winning name was selected they would come back to school with a gritter lorry so they could see it for themselves.
Keir Highways returned to school in April with their very impressive gritter lorry along with the winners of the competition. They couldn’t agree on just one name as they were so impressed by two, therefore, two gritter lorries have been named. The winning names were Frosty Flakes by Zachary and Snowdrop by Seren.
