Remembrance Day 2024
On Monday 11th November the year 5 children visited All Saints Church to take part in a Remembrance Day service. They read poems, sang hymns and then laid crosses and the wreath on the War Memorial and reflected on all of the soldiers who lost their lives during the war.
"At about 10 o’clock we all lined up in pairs and walked to the church. It was a very nice, sunny day where the sky was as blue as the ocean in Hawaii. When we walked up the colossal hill to the church all parents, grandparents and siblings were standing on each side of the path. We walked into the gates where 2 people that were dressed nicely were holding 2 big flags. All of us went into the church and sat down. All of the adults then walked in and sat down too. Mr Tyler welcomed everyone then we all said the Lords Prayer. After that, I read a poem with Ella and Imogen. Soon after, we sang ’Peace, Perfect Peace’ and Maya, Isla and Ed read another a poem. Rev David then talked about safety and we watched a nice video. Then, we carefully listened to a poem that Finn, Molly and Riley read. We went outside and stood in a circle and had our 2 minute silence. People with crosses placed them down then everyone said a name in honour of someone who fought in the war that came to or lived in Brixworth. We all prayed and then came back to school." - By Darcy D
