We Should Be The Best We Can Be For We Are All God's Masterpiece

Year 4 children went on the annual residential trip to Beaumanor Hall between the 19th – 21st October and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Mr. Tyler joined the children this year and had a fantastic time.

The residential is a chance for children to push themselves out of their comfort zone and spend 2 nights away from home. It is a chance for them to improve their confidence, to experience real life learning and develop friendships outside of the school environment.

The children all had the opportunity to take part in the following activities:

  • Bridge building
  • Victorian activities
  • Building and driving land buggies
  • Visiting the cellars and playing games
  • Night line trail
  • Team challenges

"It was so fun! We learnt what it would be like to be a Victorian child in school. The teachers were exceedingly strict and there are numerous punishments such as the whip, finger stocks, dunces cap and back straightener. We played hide and seek in the cellars where the servants worked. The seekers had head torches and if they go into the same room as you, you curl up into a ball so they think you're a stone so it’s harder to find you. Personally this was my favourite activity. Finally we bought things from the gift shop. There were lots to choose from with only £5! Like rattle magnets, bouncy balls, slap bands, rubbers, pencils, neon flashing balls and stretchy toys. The food was absolutely delicious! Especially the hash browns, baked beans and vanilla milkshake, you either had a table of eight or nine. It was extremely loud even though we had to be quiet. To anyone going in the future, remember to bring the right things and a change of everything just in case you get absolutely drenched - like I did." -  By Anthony B

"My favourite activity was playing hide and seek in the cellars because it was really exciting, especially when you got to go and look for people with your torch. It was loads of fun having a sleep over with so many people and the food was delicious! I mostly liked the cooked breakfast with milkshake or juice." - By Millie O
