Meet our six feathery friends!
In 2018 the school welcomed ‘The girls’ who settled in very quickly to their new home. They love to be scratting in the bushes and making themselves dust baths. Each class look after the hens for a week at a time; duties include letting them out, putting them safely in at night, feeding, collecting the eggs and cleaning them out. Of course we make sure we wash our hands thoroughly afterwards. Each class were involved in naming the hens and from the pictures you can see what names they choose.

June 2019 - Foundation Stage have loved taking turns looking after the hens for the past three weeks. Going to see them twice a day, feeding them and giving them water. The children also loved giving them new bedding for the coop. Their favourite part of the job is looking for fresh eggs which we used to make cakes.
