As the year 6 pupils approach their final few weeks here at Brixworth Primary School they take part in many activites to help prepare them for the transition into Secondary school. This week, they were visited by Lighthouse Trust Northampton who provided them with a transition workshop to help them manage their feelings and thoughts surrounding this stage in their lives.
"Today, Leah from the Lighthouse Trust came and told us all about secondary school. In the morning we learnt about how to cope with the pressure of secondary school. Leah said that we shouldn't panic about starting secondary school and gave us ways to handle our anxieties around starting. We talked about change and independence and played games to reflect our thoughts. Then, in the afternoon, the class got split in half to do another activity. This activity was all about reflection and feeling calm. There were so many different activities to do. There was play-dough that we made ourselves and best friend activities to do. My favourite activity was making friendship bracelets with my best friend Grace. I really enjoyed this experience and loved all the activities." - By Grace T
