On Thursday 10th February, the Year 5/6 athletics team hopped onto the bus and it took 30 minutes to arrive at Daventry Leisure Centre. We were excited, nervous and confident for the competition and we were ready to work hard. The boys did their track events first and the girls did their field events. The boys completed different relay races; some sprints and others long distance whilst the girls completed the field events: chest push, long jump, vertical jump, triple jump and the speed bounce. At the half way point the boys and girls swapped over. After this the boys and girls both completed their obstacle relay races. Once all events had been completed we waited for the results and it was announced Brixworth had finished 4th overall. Everyone in the team did amazingly well and tried their best.
