Yr 3 & 4 Learning – Village Walks

“On Tuesday 23rd June all of Year 3 went on a walk around the village. We walked out of the school, walked across the road to the righthand side and walked down the hill to see what we could see. When we got down to the bottom, we turned and carried on walking. In front of us was The Workhouse and the Library. We walked past the shops and some houses before starting to walk back up to the school. I bet everyone was thinking what an amazing walk it was.” Emilia C

“On Thursday 25th June we went for a walk around the village. In our Geography lessons this term we have been studying our local land use over time. First, we went past St David’s Park which is a recreational type of land use. Then we saw lots of houses as there are lots of residential areas in Brixworth. We also saw lots of shops and the Workhouse which is commercial land use. It was really interesting to see all the different land uses in Brixworth.” Emilia H

“We saw a lot of houses and roads. A few people waved at us, and we waved back. Then we saw the Sheltered housing called Saxon House. When we got to the bottom, in front of us was the Library, The Workhouse, One Stop shop, Fish & Chip shop, the empty Co-Op, pharmacy and the green grocers and the houses on the lefthand side. We walked down to the bottom and turned right to see more houses, the step shop and Murco. We carried on down to even more houses. We saw a roundabout and then we walked down to the school entrance. I bet everyone was thinking what a great walk it was when we got back to school.” Luna
