Year 5 Remembrance Service
On Remembrance day, Tuesday 11th November, Year 5 took part in a Remembrance service. First we walked to the church in pairs. When we had arrived at All Saints Church, we went in and sat down. Then, Mr Tyler made a speech about the soldiers who died for us. Next we sang the Lord’s prayer to the tune of Kumbaya. After that, Ava, Louis & Lillia read a poem called ‘Flander’s Fields’. Rev David also did a speech about how God is our shelter and we take refuge under God by following him. Following that, all of the Year 5s sang ‘Peace Perfect Peace’. We walked outside and gathered around the war memorial in a circle and then said the names of the people who lived in Brixworth who died in the war. Finally, people put the wreaths down and we walked back to school.

On Tuesday 11th November 2025, Year 5 had a Remembrance service at the church. We paired up and exited school, ready for our way to church. First Mr Tyler gave a speech. Then we sang our first song to the tune of Kumbaya. Then Ava, Louis & Lillia read a Remembrance poem. Then, we sang a song called ‘Peace Perfect Peace’. Next Charlotte, Ayrton, Nola and Finley read another poem. After that, Rev David gave a speech to the church, then four children from the last class read a poem once again. Soon after, we headed outside and read the names of people who died in the war. Finally, we had a two minute silence and headed back to school.
