We Should Be The Best We Can Be For We Are All God's Masterpiece
"Never say never because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.” – Michael Jordan.

Here at Brixworth we believe that PE and Sports are an integral part of every child's education and development. We feel that all children should have access to quality PE provision, with the intention of increasing the amount of young people taking part in regular sporting activity throughout their lives. Striving to be the best that you can be is vital within our lessons and is fundamental to our school values and our beliefs. Children need to challenge themselves but look for that next manageable target and relish themselves when they reach it. Our approach to sport at Brixworth in the last year has continued to have a large impact on the attainment, enjoyment and wellbeing of pupils and staff.

After receiving the Gold level School Games award for 4 years this meant that we were eligible to achieve platinum. We achieved the platinum award this year (2023). As a school, we have demonstrated the impact and meaningful difference PE and sport can have on every one of its pupils. Platinum is the highest award level the school can achieve, providing and engaging our pupils in high quality School Games opportunities. We can proudly say we are an ‘actively engaged school’.

We always work hard to provide a wide variety of free sports clubs for the children that take place at lunch times and after school. Children of all abilities showed perseverance, teamwork and communication skills. These would not be possible without the dedicated staff who give up their own time to provide these for the children. The clubs do change with seasons and are in line with many of the local sporting competitions that are held each year.

Over the course of this year we aim to provide the following clubs and sporting competitions:

Girls and Boys Football, Netball, Tag Rugby, Quicksticks Hockey, Sportshall Athletics, Cross Country, Cricket, Rounders, Tennis, Tri Golf, Archery, Multiskills, Street Dance, Sailing, Curling Fencing and Gymnastics.

We see sport as a major factor in the well-being of our pupils and staff. The mental and physical health of our school community is of great importance to us and during the last year, we have made strides in how we approach this during PE lessons and sports clubs.
