Excellence, Aspiration, Inclusion, Respect

On Tuesday 16th March Year 5 and 6 welcomed an Anglo-Saxon visitor into school and we enjoyed learning about the Anglo-Saxons. We learnt about Anglo-Saxon homes, jewellery and weaponry. The weapons they used ranged from spears and swords, to bows and arrows. She also told us about how they were warriors or peaceful farmers. Rich people could afford great protection for battles but unfortunately, the poor people could only afford leather caps; these were known as slaves. We had great fun learning to write with quills. We really enjoyed the day!
