Excellence, Aspiration, Inclusion, Respect

The Journey - On Thursday 16th January, KS1 travelled on a giant, white coach all the way to Rockingham Castle.  We sat in our seats next to our partner and my partner was Olivia. We had to fasten our seatbelts. We couldn’t eat or drink on the bus. It took about 35 minutes until we arrived at Rockingham Castle. I was very excited.

The Tour - When we arrived we looked at the outside of the castle. We learnt about the curtain wall and the towers were called drum towers. The towers used to be square but it wasn’t strong enough so now it is a circle. We saw the          battlements, the arrow slits and where the portcullis used to be and then we went where the drawbridge used to be. We saw how high we were and the view. It was very high!
