Excellence, Aspiration, Inclusion, Respect

On Thursday 4th March we celebrated World Book Day both in school and remotely. We dressed up as many different characters and the learning activities for the day centered around our favourite Roald Dahl stories.

Foundation Stage focused on Roald Dahl’s Enormous Crocodile. Here are Julius, Oscar, Sophia, Macie, Rosie and Abbie’s great learning. The children also made their own book cover designs and had a book hunt with a long list of things to find in the books (such as a king, a frog, a castle etc). The children had a look through lots of books to find them.

In Year 1 and 2, the children were asked to write a book review of their favourite story. They also made a shoebox story theatre, with puppets, to retell a story either they had written themselves or one they enjoyed reading.

Year 3 and 4 focused on George’s Marvellous Medicine and the BFG. One of their tasks was to make a potion. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was the choice of Year 5 and 6. They made chocolate creations and produced writing inspired by the book.
