Foundation
Foundation Stage children came into school dressed as their favourite story character, very excited and ready to hear all about Nibbles the Monster who eats storybooks. The children were met by a very grumpy farmer, a duck and a variety of farm animal characters from our class story, Farmer Duck.
During the day, the children wrote speech bubbles for Nibbles at different points in his story. We made mini Nibbles collages and watched a performance of Farmer Duck performed in the outside classroom by the Foundation Stage staff in full costume! It was great fun and a memorable day for the children and adults alike.
Year 1 and 2
Year 1 and 2 read the story of Nibbles the Book Monster then created their own comic strip of his adventures. Some classes created a Nibbles Wanted Poster, others made Nibbles book marks and Year 1 classes made Nibbles pompoms.
Year 3 and 4
We came dressed as characters from a book and we read the story of Nibbles. We learnt that he nibbles his way into stories. We had the beginning and end of a story and we had to write the middle of it. We also made bookmarks, visited the Book Fair and found some books we would like to buy. We had a fun day learning and looking at different books.

Year 5 and 6
In Year 5 and 6, we read the book ‘Nibbles: the Book Monster’ in our classes and created our own versions. We designed book covers and created our own characters who nibbled their way through well-known stories. Some of them will be on display around school in the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled.
