Excellence, Aspiration, Inclusion, Respect

On Wednesday 10th July I went to Silverstone race track for a Porsche experience. This was to inspire girls to join the engineering and motorsport industry. When we got there, they gave us special t-shirts to wear. These were to tell which group you were in. We had white shirts. The first thing we did was go and see some teenage girls who made wooden formula 1 cars and then raced them down a 20 metre track. They explained to us why and how they made them. After that, we did a pit stop challenge where we had to change tyres on a fake car. We then went to an activity where we had to make air hovercrafts. We made them by using a shower curtain, insulation and duct tape. Also, we went in a Porsche car and a man drove us around in it we did skidding and lots more. We learnt how to interview the winners on the podium after an F1 race. We looked round lots of cars and met a lady who broke her neck but is still racing. We did many other things as well. It was a great day; I loved it!
