Excellence, Aspiration, Inclusion, Respect

‘We arrived at school and the coach arrived to take us to Kelmarsh hall. When we got there, we went into the cooking room. We made cookies. Then we went on a fruit and veg hunt. In the afternoon, we went down to the servants quarters underground. At the end of the day, we had to do the washing we had a competition to see who had the cleanest shirt’

George W Yr 3

‘At Kelmarsh hall my favourite part was when we made cookies. We had to be in groups of four and we made them rosemary flavour, they were yummy. If you like doing jobs then the servant’s quarters is for you. We have to do the cleaning boots, ironing and laundry. The best part was the garden trail it was fun. There as lots of vegetables and you had to try and find them.'

Molly R Yr 3

'When we got to Kelmarsh Hall, we dressed up in Victorian clothing. After, we made Victorian cookies and they tasted delicious! I liked seeing the different rooms that the servants used, especially the drying room.'

Thomas C Yr 3

'Kelmarsh Hall is a fantastic place to go. It has a wonderful garden where they grow all of their fruit and vegetables. It was amazing and I liked baking the Victorian cookies.'
