Dear parents and carers,
At the end of another school year, I would like to express a huge thankyou to everyone for your tremendous support. We have continued on our journey of improvement and it has been wonderful to receive so many positive comments from parents, carers and the local and wider community.
We are incredibly proud of the children who are a real credit to our school, and to you as parents and carers.
Our Year 6 data is again above the national percentage for children achieving the expected standard in all three subjects of reading, writing and mathematics. This represents an incredible achievement for the children. Excellent teaching in every year group is evident in your children’s success and is testament to their hard work and the skill and dedication of all the staff.
At Brixworth Primary School we have amazing children and it is a joy to see them achieving and succeeding in all aspects of school life. Over the year the children have responded enthusiastically to the wow starts and fabulous finishes, as well as the introduction of forest schools and a wider range of activities at playtimes and lunchtimes. We aim to build upon these improvements over the next year.
Our sports teams have consistently represented the school extremely well and we are very proud of all that they have achieved. We have once again achieved Gold standard in Sport this year.
The PTA have raised an incredible amount of money over the year which will go towards developing our library which hopefully will be completed in January 2020. I am extremely grateful to every member of the PTA for all their hard work and their commitment to the school. I would like to express a huge thankyou to Heather Gardener who will be stepping down as the Chair of the PTA this year. Her commitment has been tremendous and we will miss her.
Sadly we will be saying goodbye to Mr Deacon at the end of this term. He has been a fantastic part of the Brixworth team and I am sure that many of you will have fond memories of your children being in his class. Miss Rutter and Mr Amos will be leaving us at the end of this academic year. They will all be greatly missed but we wish them all the very best and thank them for their commitment to the school and their relentless focus on making sure your children have the very best education.
I feel incredibly proud and privileged to lead this school. The teamwork and dedication of staff, no matter what their role, in making sure your child is thriving educationally, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually is second to none.
On behalf of the Brixworth CEVC Primary School staff, I would like to wish you all an enjoyable and relaxing summer holiday. We also wish our Year 6 pupils all the very best for a bright and successful future – we hope they look back on their time at Brixworth with fondness and happy memories.
For those returning in September, school starts at 8.50 am on Wednesday 4th September 2019. I look forward to seeing our pupils in school and ready for the challenges of a new academic year.
